The Cerynitian Hind is a Greek creature.

The Cerynitian Hind is a golden-horned deer that is sacred to Artemis. She had four others, the Golden Hinds.

Heracles had to capture the Cerynitian Hind as one of his labors. He chased the deer for a year until he finally caught it. Artemis complained about the treatment of her deer because one of his antlers had been broken off in its struggle with Heracles but he persuaded Artemis to let him borrow it.
